The president of Petrobras, José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, participated in the morning on Monday (14/12), in Sao Jose dos Campos (SP) of a working meeting at the Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap) followed by a visit to the works of modernization of the unit. On occasion, the general manager of Revap, Claudio Pimentel, presented the Petrobras' investment in the venture, which is around U.S. $ 3.5 billion.
According to Pimentel, since 2006, the works moved a large number of workers, registering in the month of November more than 14 thousand people working at the construction of new units. Of this total, 66% are workers of the region of Sao Jose dos Campos, Jacareí and Caçapava, which reinforces the policy of Petrobras to invest in training of local workforce to generate jobs and income in regions where it operates.
The new units will be capable of reusing the water used in production processes and minimize waste generation. The replacement of fuel oil to gas will also reduce emissions and improve air quality. A large industrial complex is responsible for converting fuel oil into diesel and gasoline quality, adequacy of fuel gas, LPG (cooking gas) and coking, and increase the heavy oil refining.
At the end of the presentation, Gabrielli spoke to the press and stressed the importance of Revap for Petrobras, as the Unit is responsible for 14% of petroleum produced by the Company. "The investment for the improvement of products, the processing of a load of pre-salt Tupi and almost full supply of Guarulhos airport with aviation fuel (jet fuel), show the relevance of Revap," he said. In addition, Gabrielli said the investment for the Company for the operation of the pre-salt, which by 2013 will be about $ 29 billion.
Meeting with businessmen of the Vale do Paraíba

About the Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap)
Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap) is fourth refinery in the state of Sao Paulo in processing and is located in Sao Jose dos Campos, 90 km from Sao Paulo City. Unity is the largest contributor of ICMS (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services) of Sao Jose dos Campos, with collection of about 724 in million of Reais (U.S. $ 425 million) a year to government arc.

Since its installation in 1980, the refinery contributes to the generation of new jobs and contributes to increase the professional skills of the workforce.
Concerns about safety, environment and health can be found in the unit earned certificates: ISO 9002 (quality processes), ISO 14001 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
