The Manager of Strategy and Planning of New Business of Petrobras (Bovespa: PETR3/PETR4, NYSE: PBR / PBRA, Latibex: XPBR / XPBRA, BCBA: APBR / APBRA), Maximiano da Silva Scuta attended the morning of Thursday (18/03) of the opening panel of the seminar "What is the pre-salt, the importance to Brazil and to Santa Catarina ", held at the Socio Economic Centre of Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in the neighborhood of the Trindade, in Florianópolis, state of Santa Catarina.
Scuta talked about the importance of pre-salt to Brazil, noting that the country is now a prime location for major reserves, it has great potential for production and consumption of oil, while Petrobras holding the high-tech of deep-water and ultra-deepwater exploration. "It's exactly the view of the large supply of oil and lower exploration risk that change the situation in the country, requiring the deployment of a new regulatory framework for exploration and production," he said.
In relation to the model of production-sharing suggested for the areas not yet tendered of the pre-salt, the manager explains that only new contracts will be impacted by the rules of the proposal being discussed by the Congress. "It's a factor that provides legal stability and increases the power of attraction of Brazil for new investments," believes. "The regions have explored not be affected."
